Speaking during a press conference yesterday at The Presidents Hotel in Gaborone, Rammidi said he get annoyed by persistent rumours peddled by the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) propaganda in his constituency that he is returning to the BDP.

The BCP leadership had called the press conference to brief the media on preparation to launch the party in Kanye and to welcome Rammidi. "I have no intention of being an accomplice in the destruction of our country. I am proud to be part of a team that is concerned about the future of our country. In that respect we shall be launching the BCP in Kanye on April 27, 2013," said Rammidi. He said he has resolved to be the torchbearer of the BCP message and campaigns in Kanye.

He said if it pleases the party and its members he will present himself to contest the parliamentary seat of Kanye North in the 2014 elections. "I hope this will put to rest speculations and allegations that the BCP has convinced me to relocate to Gaborone. With this launch of April 27, the battle lines for 2014 elections are drawn and with God on our side we shall overcome."Rammidi said his stay at BCP has been a revelation about the realities of opposition politics and inadequacies of Botswana's democracy.  He said he has experienced firsthand how tough and difficult is the terrain that is opposition politics in Botswana.
