The case which has been postponed several times due to the unavailability of either attorneys for the litigants or the judge himself is expected to continue before Justice Key Dingake.
The case, which has been registered as Quarries of Botswana vs. GaMalete Development Trust and two others, was initially scheduled to start sometime last year but was postponed because Justice Dingake was unavailable.
While it is widely acknowledged that Khama holds the title of Kgosi, the government’s failure to properly gazette his recognition has raised serious concerns about adherence to legal procedures and the credibility of traditional leadership.
