Police nab armed robbery suspects

The police have arrested three Batswana men aged between 26 and 52 years for robbing Botswana Post of over P356, 000 cash along Kgagodi/Maunatlala road on Tuesday.

The Botswana Post vehicle was transporting the money from Palapye to Maunatlala, as payments for old age pensioners, when it was stopped at gunpoint by the suspects who then fled in a car after the robbery.

Two of the suspects were later arrested in the evening near Tumasera and over P356, 000, a handgun, and two cell phones were recovered from them. The third suspect was arrested in Palapye the following morning and was found in possession of a car suspected to be the one used in the robbery. The three suspects have been detained pending further police investigations.
