Shoshong police are searching for a driver who struck and killed a 39-year-old Mahalapye man with his vehicle while speeding along Shoshong-Mahalapye road on December 23.

Police told MmegiOnline that the victim’s upper body was completely destroyed in the incident.

Shoshong assistant police station commander, Superintendent George Mabuta, told MmegiOnline that the driver fled the scene and a search is on.

“The accident occurred at night and the victim was found by passers-by lying on the road with his upper body destroyed beyond recognition. “The accident occurred at Leropong lands along Shoshong-Mahalapye road and we suspect that the deceased was trying to cross the road when he was crushed by the speeding car," he said.


Mabuta pleaded with members of the public to help with any information that could lead to the suspect's arrest.
