Tlou was speaking at the handing over of the newly renovated Nyangabgwe Hospital HIV Reference Laboratory by the United States government to the Botswana government through US President's Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and BOTUSA. The lab, which was renovated and equipped with about $935, 000 (P58 million), is situated at Jubilee Clinic.
"Numbers of babies who are born with HIV have gone down to less than four percent from an overwhelming 40 percent," she said. Tlou said that if the same spirit was kept, then it was possible to drop to less than one percent.
