'Plot to kill BMC'

Former head of Botswana Meat Commission Dr Martin Mannathoko has warned of a plot by a cabal to kill the national abbattoir and says the recent collapse could be associated with the conspiracy.

*Says he could never have hired Clive Marshall
*Prefers quarantines to feedlots for preparing cattle for  slaughter
*'White skin was made a requirement for BMC board'

The Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreak in Ngamiland, which has been running for the past five years, can be eradicated to allow the opening of Maun abattoir and economic growth in the district, says former Executive Chairman of Botswana Meat Commission, Dr Martin Mannathoko. He was testifying before the Reatile Parliamentary Select Committee established to investigate causes of the collapse of the beef industry in Botswana.
