PAC to have public hearings starting 2012

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament will with effect from next year, conduct their hearings in public, confirmed the chairperson of the committee Moiseraele Goya (MP for Palapye), yesterday.

The SADCOPAC conference was held at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe between November 14-18. The decision to conduct committee hearings in public also comes after an amendment of parliamentary Standing Orders and is also expected to enhance transparency in the handling of public expenditure and funds.
