FRANCISTOWN: No one will be charged in relation to the violence that characterised the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) elective congress in Bobonong last July.

According to the Assistant Commissioner of Police Deputy Divisional Commander-North Central, Tamapo Nthoiwa investigations into violent activities at Matshekge Senior Secondary School were completed in the last week of December.

“Based on the circumstances surrounding the Matshekge incident criminal charges will not be laid against any member of the two warring BMD factions. We came to the conclusion that no one will be charged after doing a lot of screening. There was a lot of commotion during the infighting which has made it difficult to charge anyone,” Nthoiwa said.
