Nightclubs belong on the outskirts - Councillors

“The clubs in Maruapula and Ext 10 in particular are a public nuisance and efforts should be made for their relocation to the outskirts of the city. There have been high incidents of robbery, rape, murder and petty theft reported by residents in such areas,” said Nkaigwa.
He said that the council should expedite the process of outsourcing some of the recreational parks to the private sector for promotion of recreation in the city. The mayor said that the council challenges the government to provide spaces for establishment of nightclubs outside Gaborone. He said that there is also a need for the establishment of a national theatre in Gaborone to give residents more options for recreation.
