Mukokomani disciaplinary hearing set for this weekend

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Central Committee will tomorrow conduct a hearing over the Selebi-Phikwe mayoral elections.

The elections became controversial when Lekang Mukokomani stood against Tebogo Matlhogonolo, contrary to the party caucus agreement.

He made the situation worse by nominating an opposition councillor to deputise him. Mukokomani told Mmegi in an interview this week that he will be honest to the leadership of the party during the hearing. "I will be honest to myself, to the electorate and the leadership of the party. I will tell them the truth, nothing else but the truth. I will tell them what we discussed with my colleagues during our caucus, prior to the elections.  I will not be my own judge but the leadership," he said.
