Mphothwe, Botswana�s new High Commissioner in Nigeria

President Ian Khama has appointed Pule Mphothwe as Botswana’s High Commissioner-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

A statement from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation says Mphothwe is a career diplomat, who joined the then Department of External Affairs in 1992, and who has served in a variety of positions within the Ministry, including as the Private Secretary to the Minister, as Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of the Republic of Botswana to Japan and most recently, as Acting Director for the Public Relations, Research and Information Department.

The High Commissioner-Designate is expected to take up his appointment in Abuja in September 2017.
