Moupo plans political education

FRANCISTOWN: After lying low since July, former Botswana National Front (BNF) president, Otsweletse Moupo plans to make a political comeback. The former MP has said that on his return he will concentrate on political education for party cadres. Currently, he is sorting out private matters at his old base in Selebi-Phikwe.

Moupo was BNF president from 2003 to July this year. He has kept a low profile ever since he lost an opportunity to defend his parliamentary seat last year and after he declined to stand again as BNF president. However, he says he has been active at the regional level. "I continue to be active in the BNF's MASEBO (Mmadinare, Selebi-Phikwe and Bobirwa) region where I will intensify political education and sell the party ideology to the masses," he says.

He expects his political education trips to land him in neighbouring northern and north central regions. "It can help a lot in reviving the fortunes of the BNF especially during these hard times when there are so many challenges to grapple with."
