MOCHUDI: Mpho Morolong of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) and Steven Makhura of Botswana Congress Party (BCP) were yesterday elected chairman and deputy chairman of Kgatleng District Council (KDC) respectively.

The two were elected unopposed amidst allegations that some members of the UDC were trying to block their ascendancy in favour of Mpho Moruakgomo of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

Kgatleng District has 27 councillors, with UDC in the majority.
