Ministry to revamp school ablutions

As a way of solving problems arising from the introduction of the double shift system in schools, the Ministry of Education has started to upgrade overstretched facilities such as ablution blocks and toilets.

Recently, the ministry invited tenders for the construction, connection, completion, commissioning and maintenance of ablution structures at all schools where the double shift has been implemented.

Speaking in an interview with Mmegi in Gaborone yesterday, principal education officer (development services) Monare Lechiile said when the double shift was introduced it was assumed schools had adequate facilities.
