There are growing murmurs of concerns around regional and tribal bias of senior government appointments since President Mokgweetsi Masisi took over the presidency on April 1, 2018.

The President is from Moshupa and a majority of his senior appointments are from Kanye, Thamaga and his home village.

Just recently, Masisi appointed Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany while Dr John Seakgosing was sent to the United Kingdom as the new High Commissioner. Masire-Mwamba is from Kanye while Seakgosing is from Thamaga.
