The Chairman of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Mokgweetsi Masisi has vowed to bring back home all the former members who are now members of its offspring, the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD).

BDP, which has been on a recruiting spree since early last year, brought back home former Letlhakeng-Lephephe constituency parliamentary hopeful Anderson Mathibe. Mathibe dumped the BDP before the 2014 general elections after he was vetted out before he could contest primary election against Liakat Kablay.  Mathibe, who was vetted out for having been an inactive member of the party, then contested as an independent candidate. After failing to win the constituency, Mathibe together with a group of other independent candidates led by Moeng Pheto resolved to join the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) through the BMD.

He went on to win the position of BMD Youth League treasurer within months of being a BMD member. Mathibe dumped the youth league with his deputy treasurer Hazel Wadikgosi, additional member Kabo Sekwai and former Ledumadumane council ward candidate Tumelo Moyo.
