Lawyers in near fist-fight in court

A Lobatse High Courtroom nearly turned into a boxing ring yesterday when two attorneys went for each other, in full view of the people in the public gallery.

Defence attorney, Joao Salbany and state counsel Mosweu Ditodi nearly traded blows after a dispute in the case of Benson Keganne who is appealing his death sentence.

Salbany seemed to have been irked by the reluctance of Mosweu Ditodi to tell the court whether the state undertook not to hang Keganne when he was extradited from South Africa.
