Kazungula security guard fatally stabs girlfriend

FRANCISTOWN: Police in Kazungula have arrested a 36-year-old security guard who is alleged to have fatally stabbed his girlfriend on Monday.

Kazungula Police Station Commander, Superintendent Phetogo Phillimon told Mmegi Online that the murder incident occurred at around noon near the Kazungula Clinic.

He said the suspect, from Seronga village, was arrested on the same day after fleeing the crime scene. According to Phillimon, the witness to the horrifying incident alleged that the security guard appeared out of nowhere and stabbed his girlfriend, also 36. "In the full glare of everyone, the suspect stabbed the Manxotai woman with a knife and ran away.

The woman bled as she collapsed. Thereafter, witnesses rushed the victim to the Kazungula Clinic and was then referred to the Kasane Primary Hospital where she was later pronounced dead," he continued. Phillimon explained that the suspect would appear before court in due time.
