Botswana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Kenny Kapinga, has been transferred to Zimbabwe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced yesterday.

The Zimbabwe diplomatic post became vacant after the former High Commissioner, Gladys Kokorwe finished her term recently. Kokorwe is said to be gearing to contest the position of Speaker of the National Assembly after the general elections. She is expected to do battle with the incumbent, Dr Margaret Nasha.

Zenene Sinombe has been appointed to replace Kapinga in South Africa. Sinombe is currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He has served at the Botswana mission to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium and deputy head of mission in New Delhi, India.
