Itekanele Donates To Destitutes In Moshopha

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Itekanele Health Scheme, a recently launched medical aid scheme for low income earners, has donated P2, 000 to the 47 destitute families in Moshopha village in Tswapong.

The scheme has also made a pledge to donate P3, 000 annually to the beneficiaries.
The scheme's medical director, Radesh Madala said the donation was in the spirit of what they believe in as a business. "You might be aware that we are just a medical aid provider for low income earners and our major existence is to cater for the less privileged members of the community in affording them quality healthcare," Madala said.

He said at Itekanele they view quality healthcare as a right that must be enjoyed by all people regardless of their socio-economic status. He said they are against the trend that a certain group of the economy should enjoy proper healthcare and noted that with the support of the community they can make the provision of health a reality for all people in Botswana.
