I will resign from UB - Motswaledi

Gomolemo Motswaledi, a contestant vying for the position of secretary general in the ruling Botswana Democratic Party at a party congress to be held in Molepolole over the President Holidays has said that he will resign his job if he wins the elections.

Motswaledi, an executive assistant in the office of the University of Botswana's deputy vice chancellor said he has already informed his principals at UB that were he to win he will have to sever employment ties with the educational institution.
"It is not something that I thought about today because you are asking me. I have long considered this because I know the occasion to which I am rising to if I do win," said Motswaledi.

He said the complexity of the BDP scribe's portfolio would demand a lot of man-hours from him so as to nestle the party and this he said he could not afford to do whilst he is saddled with UB work.
