Many families and homes were badly affected by Saturday’s brief but violent storm that felled trees around Gaborone and swept away houses. It was late afternoon when strong winds seemed to try to push away dark clouds that were gathering in the horizon.

But the heavens opened nevertheless, and a heavy downpour combined with a hailstone ensued.

For the next 10 minutes, it was total chaos and mayhem as week trees were uprooted.
