Gov�t, BDF deny middleman in Gripen deal

The Government and the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) have denied that an outsider negotiated the deal for the acquisition of Gripen fighter jets by the army.

Authorities have dismissed allegation that the Khama family company, Seleka Springs, which had dominated BDF tenders for decades, stands to benefit from this deal with Swedish arms manufacturer.

During his state visit to Sweden this week, President Ian Khama defended the acquisition of over P15 billion worth of Gripen war aircraft from the Nordic State during a press conference.
