Five strokes for man who insulted magistrate

FRANCISTOWN: Senior Magistrate Kgololesego Segabo ordered that a man who insulted him be given five strokes at the customary court last Friday.

Thulani Kgaboe (28) and another person not before court, appeared before Segabo for allegedly causing grievous harm to Thabane Gabowe on March 20th at Coloured location. When the prosecution succeeded in convincing the magistrate to remand him in jail, he uttered the words "ke m***pa golo mo" (This thing is s***t).

The state alleges that Kgaboe and his accomplice who was not in court, used a metal rod to hit Gabowe, leaving him with gashing wounds on his head and face.
