Cousin wrecks BDP vehicle

FRANCISTOWN: A cousin of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) deputy executive secretary, Lee Lesetedi has wrecked a party car.

It is understood the car is damaged beyond repair after the accident that occurred near Swaneng Hill School in Serowe in the wee hours of last Saturday. The car a white Toyota Hilux registration number B 706 AOX had been given to Lesetedi to use.

"Yes it is true that an official party vehicle with number plates B 706 AOX that I have been using overturned over the weekend at my home village of Serowe. It was being used by my cousin who took it without my consent on Friday night while I was asleep. "I am told he has been admitted at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital. I am yet to get a detailed police report to get all the facts regarding the accident. I have, however, reported the incident to my superiors at the party headquarters who will take appropriate action," Lesetedi told Mmegi by telephone yesterday.
