Choppies denies coaxing Makgalemele

Choppies Superstores has denied ever playing a hand in the recruitment of Shoshong MP, Philip Makgalemele, from the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) back to Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

Responding to a challenge by the Botswana Congress Party Youth League (BCPYL) to distance themselves from allegations that it played a role in Makgalemele's rejoining of the BDP.

Choppies executive director, Sadique Kebonang, said it was untrue that they are involved in politics. They did not even give shares or a franchise to entice Makgalemele to come back to the BDP, he added."That's not true.
