Chamme and Keetshabe lead the AG race

The acting Attorney General (AG), Morulaganyi Chamme and the Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocate Abraham Keetshabe lead the race to take over from former AG, Athalia Molokomme.

Since her departure in December, speculation was rife that President Ian Khama will appoint former deputy AG, Keetshabe to succeed Molokomme.

However, the Permanent Secretary to the President Carter Morupisi has indicated that Khama has appointed Chamme to act in the position from March 4 to May 31, 2017, or until the post is filled, whichever comes first.
