CDC councillors' plan to visit Khama marred by disagreements

SEROWE: Opposition councillors in the Central District Council (CDC) have distanced themselves from a motion that was recently passed to elect a delegation to visit President Ian Khama to discuss councillors' welfare.

The legislators have said that their ruling party counterparts who supported the motion demonstrated untrustworthiness and greed because they advance their interests at the expense of the people they represent.

Councillor Peter Williams of Tholodi Ward in the Tonota South constituency tabled the motion, and it reads:  "That council elects a delegation of councillors to the president to discuss members welfare."
