Busy weekend for political parties

This weekend promises to be a busy one for political parties as the battle to win the hearts and minds of Batswana hots up.

The major opposition parties - the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) and the Botswana National Front (BNF) - are engaged in various political campaigns in the rural areas where the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) commands massive following.

In the Shoshong area, the BNF is scheduled to hold political rallies to celebrate victory in the last general election and welcome new members, according to spokesperson, Moeti Mohwasa. In a statement released yesterday, the party says it will tomorrow celebrate the victory of their Mmutane Ward councillor, Phathalalo Magogodi.
