Brilliant minds nurtured through career guidance

A youth group aiming to enhance the academic performance of Botswana students through free tutoring, and guidance and counselling will this weekend host a career orientation workshop for Form 5 students and students awaiting admission to tertiary institutions.

All Brilliant Minds Organisation which was founded in December 2011 will hold their inaugural major event this Saturday at the ABM University College auditorium. The event is intended to assist students select the right choices for future careers.   Speaking to Mmegi yesterday, the organisation's treasurer Phenyo Gokatweng said the whole day workshop will have two sessions. The first session will see motivational speakers talk to attendants about the importance of choosing the right career, while in the second session, various university representatives will give details about courses offered in their various institutions.

Gokatweng said the group decided to organise the workshop after realising that the annual Tertiary Education Council (TEC) fair, stakeholders are more interested in advertising and promoting their institutions and not in helping their potential students choose the right programme for their careers.
