“Back when we started with the Public Service Bargaining Council (PSBC) in 2011, as the Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) we deliberately came with the plan to force unions into joining the federation by excluding other unions from the bargaining forum, but we have since been born again and want every recognised union to be part of the PSBC.”

These were the words of the Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) president, Andrew Motsamai, at a press conference yesterday.

The union is in a jubilant mood after they were successful in their bid to disqualify BOFEPUSU from bargaining as a unit calling for representation of all recognised public sector unions.
