The Nurses Union says as a female dominated profession, they are  concerned by lack of commitment and seriousness displayed by some legislators when deliberating on the ongoing motion, "to urge His Excellency the President to set up a commission of inquiry on GBV, rape and other sexual offences, as a matter of urgency, in terms of the Commissions of Inquiry Act Cap 05:02." “In order to inform policy makers such as parliament and assist the design and implementation of effective policies to combat GBV, it is first necessary to understand the nature and prevalence of the phenomenon. Even though we are nonpartisan solidarity union. we urge parliament to pass the motion.”

Further BONU reminded  parliament that this is an urgent matter and should be given a serious attention it deserves.
