Boko under threat?

Factionalism in the Botswana National Front (BNF) is said to have taken an ugly turn after it was reported that some people in the politburo want to topple president Duma Boko, BNFYL president Ntime and other BNFYL leaders - secretary general Arafat Khan and spokesman Maikgantsho Ramontsho.

The Monitor has learnt that the plot is said to be led by secretary general Akanyang Magama and other party politburo big wigs. Their plan is said to be to remove Boko, who took over the BNFL leadership from Otsweletsi Moupo, and replace him with someone of their choice. The BNFYL trio of Ntime, Khan and Ramontsho is said to be the obstacle to the alleged plotters' ambition to oust Boko, as they hold sway in the youth league and are against any manoeuvres to remove the new BNF president. So the trio have also been lined up for removal so that with their departure the plan to remove Boko will be executed smoothly, The Monitor is informed.

The subterranean plan is said to be spreading from the power centre (politburo) to the party structures across the country.
