BDP Tonota North recount in doubt

There may not be a recount of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) primary elections in Tonota North, Mmegi is reliably informed.

Onkabetse Daniel who came second after Fidelis Molao in the five-man contested election has indicated he wants a recount. The politician complained of an anomaly during counting after the poll.

"Everybody knew I was the winner given the figures we got from the polling stations. What could have changed the figures at the counting centre?" he was quoted as saying at the time. Yesterday morning Daniel together with Molao and other BDP activists from the constituency met BDP elections board chairman Parks Tafa and other BDP officials in Gaborone over the matter.
