New Zebras coach, Adel Amrouche has promised fans that his team will play total football, following his unveiling this week.

Amrouche penned a three-year deal, which will see him take charge of the Zebras’ World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaigns.

Asked about his style of play, Amrouche said his team would play total football.

“When we lose the ball, all players work, when we have the ball, we attack. It’s total football,” Amrouche said.

“We will play with organisation, we will play in phases.” Regarding his choice of assistant coach, Amrouche said he is prepared to work with Mogomotsi Mpote, who held the fort on an interim basis.

“I respect Mr. Mpote, we are going to work together; friendly and openly. Maybe he wants to stay with me in future, he

can follow my philosophy, my thinking, I am not against that.

But I need my people to come, to help local coaches. I will only bring them occasionally and not full time. In the end, it is the local coaches who will win. When I leave, I want to leave something,” he said.

Off the field, Amrouche, a member of the Red Cross Society, said he would look to play a significant role in improving the lives of disadvantaged members of the society.

“I will see what I can do. Maybe pay school fees for some children in the villages. I always do something with communities wherever I go,” said Amrouche.
