Which Mogae do you like? Now or then?

The awesome impact of Seretse Khama is reflected in the many national momentos to his name in Gaborone, Selibe Phikwe and Serowe.

That legacy would be enough to overwhelmn any successor president.  Perhaps that is the reason for the celebration of two presidential holidays. One, Sir Seretse Khama Day, and the other, President's Day, in acknowledgement of the incumbent president.
Botswana is on the eve of the end of term of the serving president, which should, unless the least expected happens, end with the presidency of Ian Khama, son of the founding President, Seretse Khama.


This eventuality, yet again, tests the oft-quoted statement that indeed ' history has the habit of repeating itself'.
Not true.  History does not repeat itself.  Wiser men have told the world that the only thing that is constant is change. No moment can ever be like the former or the future.
