The Trainers and Allied Workers Union (TAWU) and the government will meet on Monday at the Industrial Court to determine the issue of the levels of operation for the teaching service approved by government recently.

The union said the government's decision to effect new pay structure for teaching cadres was unilateral unfair, wrongful and unlawful.

It wants government to commence consultation and negotiations within seven days if the court grants its request. In his affidavit, the TAWU vice president Edward Tswaipe said that if left unchallenged, the decision by government undermines the rights of employees to be consulted before changes or purported changes are made in their terms and conditions of service.
