Back then he worked for a man known as Mapharangwane, who had a little transportation business. Matsheke's job was to transport people from Francistown to Nswazwi using a van. He soon left and joined another company in 1965 called Cost Green that was involved in the construction of the Francistown-Orapa road.
"In 1969 after the Cost Green Company had completed the Francistown-Orapa road tender, I had by then managed to acquire a heavy-duty drivers license which then opened the doors to the truck driving career," Matsheke said.
