BOPEU must reconcile and move on

The Botswana Public Employees Union’s (BOPEU) warring factions, led by Masego Mogwera and Olefile Monakwe respectively, are not interested in reconciliation. This is despite efforts by general membership to have the two groups to reconcile. The BOPEU members’ calls come after a prolonged power struggle that has left the union in disarray.

It is a lengthy, tiring and costly exercise that has been going on for years. Both parties argue they will fight all the way to the end, as they claim it is for the benefit of the membership. On the other hand, Monakwe should be able to hand over to Mogwera and support her just like all other BOPEU members.
