IMF, World Bank keen to bail out Zim - Gaolathe

Multilateral financial institutions, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) are said to be willing to help revive the Zimbabwean economy but certain conditions such as how the US$150 million outstanding arrears already owed to them are going to be restructured and paid back.

"One of the major constraints is that Zimbabwe is in arrears with institutions," the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Baledzi Gaolathe, said in an interview on Monday.

"So there are questions of how this risk will be dealt with."
