This was preceded by a pronouncement he made on March 31, 2020, which was followed by his ministry’s press release of April 2, 2020. Although the law was enacted on May 4, 2020, it shall be deemed to be effective as from March 1, 2020. According to the law, the deferment of the corporate tax, is to “provide temporary relief from payment of tax to taxpayers adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic”.
