Leshomo's Isabella artwork sets tongues wagging

A serene artwork of a white woman carrying a clay pot with African accessories on her neck will definitely get people pondering over whether it is racist or not.

And tongues are set wagging in Malaysia each time Bonolo Leshomo's piece is displayed, with some deeming it too "racist".Some feel there should be an African girl under the clay pot.  But that does not bother the young artist who rates it her best artwork to date.

She named the piece Isabella and says it means gift from God."The greatest gift God has given us is unity," she says of the piece, which has been met with mixed reactions.Leshomo explains the idea was to provoke people to dare to be different.She is a mixed media artist who also does craft and pastel drawings with oil and chalk.She started doing art from a young age.
