Rapist denied appeal

The Court of Appeal (CoA) has dismissed Phemelo Patelelo's appeal for his sentence to run concurrently citing that the appellant had failed to demonstrate beyond reasonable doubt why his application should succeed.

Justice Monametsi Gaongalelwe said when delivering judgment recently that prison terms are directed to run concurrently where the same set of offences are linked in terms of time, place or some other circumstance.
