Paya dismisses John's voters roll objection

Village Magistrate’s Court yesterday dismissed an objection by Phase 2 council candidate, Siele John to have another council hopeful, Dingaan Lenong, removed from the Voters Roll.

Magistrate Mogi Paya, following oral evidence by the parties and submissions by their attorneys, dismissed the objection citing that John, who is an independent candidate, had not challenged Alliance for Progressives (AP) candidate, Lenong’s evidence. 

“The objector’s evidence had been drawn from inferences compared to the defendant’s evidence, which was not challenged in any material way,” she said.
