IEC announces supplementary voter registration

The Independence Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced the commencement of constituency-based supplementary voter registration also known as continuous voter registration.

According to a Savingram from the organisation dated December 5, 2018, the supplementary voter registration will commence on December 17, 2018 till March 31, 2019.  It further urged all chief election officers, principal elections officers and principal registration officers to start necessary preparations to undertake the scheduled supplementary voter registration. 

 “The commission further determined the polling station-based supplementary voter registration, which will take place after the close of the constituency-based supplementary voter registration.  Actual dates for this supplementary voter registration will be communicated in due course,” it stated.
