The Law Society has moved quickly to dismiss media reports that outgoing chairman Tebogo Sebego will replace Peter Collins, their current representative at the Judicial Services Commission.

Incoming chairperson Yvonne Chilume says the process of replacing a representative at the JSC has to follow laid-out procedure established in law.  "Collins has not completed the stipulated two years of service within the JSC, he was only sworn in this year. We therefore are not in any way going to end his tenure. Collins remains our representative in the JSC and he is not being replaced," said Chilume.

Earlier this week there were media reports that in the follow-up to the weekend AGM the council would install new office bearers as well as move the out-going chairperson to the JSC.
