Marina Bans Walk-In Deliveries

Princess Marina Hospital (PMH) has decided to intensify decongestion process in its maternity. According to the hospital’s chief communications and public relation officer (PRO) Donnell Kutlapye, the hospital has taken a step to decongest its maternity ward with effect from August 1, 2017.

He said the hospital was overcrowded and as a result patient care was sometimes compromised.

“The Ministry of Health and Wellness has taken a decision that all first time pregnant women and those who have delivered up to four children will be delivered at local clinics. All along the above pregnant women were delivered in hospitals. As a result, both the Maternity and Postnatal Wards are always overcrowded,” he noted in a press statement.
