Illegally armed prosecutor resigns

Principal prosecution council with the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP), Christinah Ramokwena, who was caught with an illegal firearm has resigned from duty.

DPP director, Abraham Keetshabe confirmed that the renowned state lawyer moved swiftly to quit her job, following media reports of her being found in possession of a firearm.

Sources told this publication that the gun was found in her office on April 17, 2017 after a tip-off from some police officers. It is said upon searching her office, the gun was recovered along with dagga.
