FRANCISTOWN: After losing main sponsor, BCL Mine, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the Selebi-Phikwe Extravaganza softball tournament say they hope to secure a new deal for this year’s edition.

The extravaganza is one of the biggest tournaments in local softball as the tournament has grown over the years, with the 2016 edition attracting P600,000 in sponsorship. The lucrative tournament is traditionally played over the Presidents’ Day holidays in Selebi-Phikwe. BCL were the parent sponsors, but the mine shut down last October.  Komatsu and Bridgestone were the other main sponsors.

Botsogo Health Care is the only other sponsor that still has a running contract that elapses this year after signing a three-year deal in 2015.
