Sharps Sweeping Stars maintained their good run in the Debswana First Division South League when they beat Notwane 3-0 on Saturday.

Michael Mmelesi came on in the second half and scored two goals to increase Moemedi Moatlhaping’s early effort in the first half. Moatlhaping caught Notwane defence off guard eight minutes into the game and shot past Toronto’s goalkeeper, Thabang Motlhabai. A minute earlier, Notwane hit the cross bar through Kakanyo Kethubile from a corner kick. Both sides moved forward in numbers and Langa Mabuli took a good shot at goal and forced Motlhabai to concede a corner. Notwane also had a chance when Kethubile beat Sharps goalkeeper, Richard Musheke with a good shot but Sharps defender, Tebogo Benjamin cleared the ball from the goal line. Moatlhaping’s goal separated the two sides at half time.

Fifteen minutes into the game, Sharps introduced striker, Mmelesi for Okeditse Kgosietsile. Mmelesi scored Sharps’ second goal just six minutes after his introduction with a powerful header from a corner kick.
